The Air Force School (Subroto Park) (TAFS)
Originally called Air Force Central School (AFCS) was set up to provide education primarily to the children of Indian Air Force (IAF) personnel. The school is a private co-educational institute affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). It has boarding facilities for boys of classes VI to XII. It has classes from Kindergarten to Class XII. The school is situated on the Aravali ridge. Although the school was established primarily for the benefit of children belonging to the IAF personnel, it has always been open to wards of Army and Navy personnel as well as to civilians. (TAFS)' was founded by the late Air Marshal Subroto Mukherjee, the Chief of Air Staff. It was established in temporary wartime barracks at Wellingdon Camp, Club Road, New Delhi on 18 July 1955 to educate children of Officers and Airmen of the Indian Air Force.
In May 1967, the school shifted to its present location Aravalli Campus location in Subroto Park, Delhi Cantonment. Earlier the school was located in New Delhi near the present residence of the Prime Minister of India. The school celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1980 when the word "Central" was dropped from the name. The school has an auditorium named as Aravali Hall. There are two separate 'wings' in the school. The junior wing has classes Kindergarten to V. The senior wing has classes VI to XII. The school, and its sister schools, Air Force Bal Bharati School (AFBBS) and the Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute (AFGJI) are run by the Indian Air Force Educational and Cultural Society.

Air Force School Jaipur
Jaipur had begun its journey in July 1980. Air Force School is a co-educational public school. The school is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. The school has been declared ISO certified in the year 2008. Air Force School, Jaipur is a welfare institution of the Indian Air Force Educational and Cultural Society. Its primary objective is promote education, fine arts and culture amongst retired and serving employees of the Indian Air Force and other armed forces children and families stationed at Jaipur.
The school opened its doors to civilian children after it was felt that a number of children residing at Amer side of Jaipur were deprived of good education and were knocking at its door.
Today, Air Force School, Jaipur is a Senior Secondary School, affiliated to CBSE. It is serving the nation by imparting quality education to the society. Air Force School, aims at the overall personality development of the young. To accomplish this, special efforts are made to help students to become mature, spiritually oriented people of character, of men with love for learning and accurate expression, the strength of character and the moral values needed for a life that is socially meaningful. Thus, the students are encouraged continuously to strive after excellence in every field and to be clear and firm in principles and courageous in action, to render selfless service to their fellow men and to become agents of needed social change in the country.
